Christian dior galliano trailer handbag this stunning, iconic handbag from dior is also referred to as the cadillac, trailer trash or hot rod bag. It is part of one of the most popular and successful cd collections. It is made out of perforated white “tuck and roll” leather, smooth white leather and beautiful “candy apple” red metallic patent leather and silver leather piping. It is embellished with fabulous silver automotive hardware: an enameled metal “trailer” license plate with “montaigne chris 1947 cd”, reflective tail lights, a “cadillac” steering wheel attached to the strap and a fabulous sleek door handle on the front flap. The darling license plate refers to the year dior opened his avenue montaigne, paris boutique. This purse measures 12” long x 3” deep x 9” at the highest point and 6” at the shortest point. These dimensions are approximate due to the unusual shape of the bag. The red patent leather strap drop is 6 ½” making this bag easy to carry in the hand, on the arm and comfortably over the shoulder. The strap is in perfect condition. The pristine interior has two open compartments lined in red fabric and is large enough to hold all the essentials. There is a zippered security pocket on the interior that measures 4” deep x 8” wide. There is an additional zippered pocket under the front flap measuring 3” deep x 7” wide, which can conveniently accommodate a smart phone or keys. The flap closes securely with a magnetic snap. This amazing handbag was purchased on March 15, 2001 in the christian dior st. Germain boutique in paris for approximately $1,200. It was lightly and gently used and carefully stored since that time. It has the original “carte d’authenticite” no. 44 01 3 100049 035. The small leather interior tag “christian dior paris” has “made in italy ma-0021” impressed on the reverse. This great pre-owned bag shows some scuffing on the smooth white leather on the backside (the side with the license plate) and the bottom. There are some minor scratches on the interior of the flap and on the metal door handle and license plate. Please use the zoom feature to study these areas carefully. The attention to detail on this incredibly chic purse is amazing. The sleek design is a clever nod to classic mid-twentieth century automotive styling. This is a gorgeous kate spade handbag that I only carried for a short while. It is in like new condition. No stains and only one very tiny little white scuff on one of the bottom sides – unnoticeable unless you are closely inspecting the bag. No stains on the interior, but it is a little dusty from sitting in my closet. I get bored quickly with my purses, so why shouldn’t someone else enjoy them!
